Responsibilities:
Classroom Support:
- Assist teachers in delivering high-quality lessons, providing support to individual students or small groups.
- Take responsibility for leading lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring continuity in the learning process.
Curriculum Development:
- Contribute to the planning and development of curriculum resources.
- Adapt teaching materials to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring inclusively in the learning environment.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
- Assist in assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback to both students and teachers.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement and monitor individual education plans (IEPs).
Behaviour Management:
- Foster a positive and respectful learning environment.
- Implement behaviour management strategies, working closely with the school's policies and procedures.
Supporting Special Educational Needs (SEN):
- Provide targeted support for students with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to implement interventions effectively.
Parental Engagement:
- Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings and other school events as required.
Professional Development:
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed about educational best practices and innovations.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of training sessions for support staff as needed.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
- Possess HLTA status or equivalent experience and qualifications.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or similar role.
- Experience working with students across different age groups and abilities.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
